november in review (even when it's december)

what a wild and crazy month, once again!

obviously, gotta start with the big news first: i'm published! yep, first time ever. it's not a huge publication, but it's big to me. i never thought anyone would take my writing seriously. i kind of just thought this was a pipe dream. but it's cool to know i can do it, and i'm included in a small, talented bunch. you can read all of our work here , with my work being on page three (right in front)!

i probably have the best memory of just the past couple weeks, which were busy even on their own. the highlight was definitely spending time with family and friends around turkey day. i hate the concept of the holidays, but it's a good excuse to be around family.

the rest of the month has been a late-semester blur. right now i'm just getting ready for finals, then the holidays, then surgery: a lot in a very short amount of time. been going on more walks and eating more vegetables in preparation! i might make soup tonight.

recommendations for the month include mad men (which has recently been remastered and put on HBO max) and kitchen nightmares for television. i haven't been reading because there hasn't been time, so my reading recommendation is to listen in on phone conversations on the bus. it's better than reading, you'll learn more from that than any book. for listening, i have only been spinning the new danny brown album and cocteau twins lately. they are not as dissimilar as you'd think.

best of the month: loved spending time with family and the boyfriend. turkey was the number one hit at the table, which i don't think i've ever said. bowling with my boyfriend and his family was really great, too. and i'm seriously not kidding about that danny brown album. i cried in my car listening to that-tears of joy, i mean.

worst of the month: school stress, which means my life is pretty good! most of what i was worried about getting done is almost over now, and the rest of the month is hopefully gonna be smooth sailing.
